Høgevarde: A MTB Paradise in Norway
Located in the Hallingdal Valley, Norway, the Fjell Park Trail Center at Høgevarde stands as Norway’s premier mountain resort dedicated to the summer season. The landscape is breathtaking, with towering peaks, serene alpine lakes, and verdant mountain meadows defining the scenery. The Fjell Park Trails wind through this picturesque Norwegian backdrop, offering miles of uninterrupted, exhilarating riding experiences. Although the mountain lacks ski lifts, riders can utilize a shuttle system to reach the peak or opt for Hans Rey’s method: a more scenic, albeit demanding ascent.

This roughly 10-mile trail descends the entire mountainside, boasting a thrilling route “from waterfalls to lakes,” in Jacobs’ words. Høgevarde forms part of a more extensive network encompassing six bike resorts scattered throughout the valley, offering diverse opportunities for riders to explore and enjoy.
