On Saturday October 26th, 2024, Fix Manufacturing and Laguna Canyon Riders would like to present the 10th Annual Laguna Beach Dirt Fondo. The Dirt Fondo will celebrate Laguna’s Open Space by challenging mountain bike riders on the best trails, fire roads, and bike paths in Laguna. The Dirt Fondo is not a race, instead the emphasis will be on having a fun and safe time and to learn more about Aliso Woods Canyon and the Laguna Coast Wilderness trails. There will be 25 and 50 mile route options with the start / finish at the Laguna Bike Festival.
The ride is a fundraiser for the Laguna Canyon Riders Youth Mountain Bike Team 501(c)(3). All net proceeds will go to the team.
The event cost starts at $115 for the 25 mile and 50 mile versions. Registration will be limited to 100 riders. Your tax deductible donation to participate in this ride includes –
- Entry to the Laguna Bike Festival start / finish.
- Limited edition Troy Lee Designs jersey featuring artwork from Bob Haro.
- 1 drink ticket
- 1 raffle ticket
- Food specials
The Route
The 25 mile course is a mix of singletrack, pavement, and dirt roads. Total elevation gain / descent is 3000 ft. The course is marked and there will be a neutral group roll out at the start. Be on the lookout for multiple DH options that allow riders to choose an intermediate or more advanced descent route. 3 aid stations on the course will have provisions for bottle fills and nutrition.

Riders doing the 50 miles course will complete the same first 25 miles. Miles 26-50 are self guided, self supported, and the course is not marked. Please do not attempt the 50 if you are not familiar with our local trails. The map spells out the sequence of trails for local riders to complete. You can also download the GPS data and attempt to ride the course using a turn-by-turn capable device. If you attempt to do that, you will need to adjust the start / finish from Laguna Beach Beer Company to the Festival location just across the street. There is a noon cutoff to attempt the 50 miler! If you are not back at mile 25 (Bike Festival venue) by noon you are not at pace to finish during daylight.

Miles 26-50 has more elevation gain (3600 ft), more singletrack, and overall more dirt than the first 25 miles. Some riders will start miles 26-50 at sunrise and make it to the 9am start for the group roll out. During our COVID edition in 2020, the ride was done individually using STRAVA and many riders did miles 26-50 exclusively. Don’t let us get in the way of your version of fun. If you want to start the ride with the group and finish with an alternate favorite trail, the goal is to have a good time!
